At PAL, we currently have 5 elephants. Several generations succeed one another in our Asian elephants, Acra, our matriarch is the oldest. We then have Kaveri, her daughter Nina and her grandson Tom and finally, Upali, who arrived a short time ago.
Tom, the elephant star
Nina, still present at PAL and Chang, who left to join a group of females in the Czech Republic gave birth to a small baby elephant. On March 19, 2014, after 22 months of gestation, little Tom was born.
A wrong arrival!
On February 28, PAL was pleased to welcome Upali, an Asian elephant from the Dublin Zoo in Ireland. He arrived at the PAL to reproduce with Nina, mother of Tom. To ensure that transportation takes place in the best conditions, Upali has been trained by its carers upstream so that it can voluntarily enter its transport case. The release of Upali in its new environment was smooth and our elephant immediately took its marks without being the victim of absolutely no stress.
