Yucca gloriosa is remarkably hardy and tolerant of almost any conditions! Once it is well-established, it becomes just as resistant to drought and heat as it is to cold and even snow. Its roots can withstand even more. That’s why it’s so widespread and is nicknamed the “garden yucca.” Because of the saponins it contains, the yucca can be toxic to pets. Yucca is very difficult to propagate. There are several methods: it can be pruned to the desired height, since each piece of the trunk will sprout (regrow) after being cut back. You can use each cut branch to propagate the plant.
