A great player
At PAL, I live with Kinabalu, my mother, a female older than me, who arrived in October 2018. I quickly understood that Kinabalu had character and that we would quickly become inseparable! We spend all our time together, we are only separated at mealtimes so that the keepers can control what we eat.
At PAL I eat: raw chicken, red meat and occasionally sheep. If we were in a natural environment, we would not eat every day, which is why we have two days of fasting per week, in order to preserve this natural rhythm!
The keepers come to visit us at least twice a day: in the morning to take us out, check the safety of our building and enclosure, and in the evening for our evening meal. No scratching behind the ear, no petting and no contact: we could be very dangerous for them. To prevent us from getting bored, the keepers change our meal times, hide our food, etc. On suspended tree trunks, they have tempting smells to encourage us to climb.
With the heat felt during the summer of 2019, we were also able to show that tigers love water! Many visitors were able to see us lounging in the watering hole of our enclosure to cool off... while the keepers only saw it in photos!
A big thank you to Oeil de Soigneur who provided us with these magnificent photos of Sankha! Find their photos of the PAL animals on Facebook and Instagram!
I do everything like Dad, but I'm not afraid of anything!
Because all species play a role in the balance of ecosystems essential for life on earth, protecting them means acting for the good of the planet and the survival of future generations.
