5 school canteens in Madagascar
On November 28, Helpsimus (association working in Madagascar) announced the opening of 3 new school canteens in the schools of Ambohipo, Ambodimanga and Vohitrarivo!
The 5 school canteens (with those of Sahofika and Ambodigoavy) benefit 662 children and their 22 teachers. It took 5 years for each school in the program to have its own school canteen.
Pedagogy for children...
This project will contribute to the long-term protection of greater bamboo lemurs by keeping children in school. Thus, they will acquire a better basic education and once adults, they will be able to better manage their natural resources and will be made aware of the protection of their environment and in particular of the greater bamboo lemur.
A great help for people...
This project also generates new sources of income for local populations:
- job creation (gardeners for school vegetable gardens, cooks for meal preparation, etc.)
- purchase of foodstuffs from local producers who will benefit from an agricultural program (in preparation).
Supported by Le PAL
A complete and meaningful project supported by the Le PAL Nature Foundation, which financed the creation of 5 school vegetable gardens and the allowances for the cooks.
