New for 2026...

The Elephant Delta !

New for 2026: The Elephant Delta

A new attraction for 2026 focused on animal welfare and immersive experiences, The Elephant Delta is the culmination of a major redevelopment project dedicated to one of Le PAL's most iconic species: elephants. The goal is to enhance animal welfare while offering visitors a unique and more immersive viewing experience. The enclosure is home to three females: Acra, the matriarch and oldest member of the group; Kaveri; and her daughter, Nina. Following the departure of the male, Upali, a new breeding male will join the group of females in spring 2026. Le PAL is one of the few parks in France to house a breeding group of elephants. It participates in a European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) that aims to develop the genetic heritage of Asian elephants, a species threatened in the wild.

A unique space for Asian elephants in France.

Spanning 2 hectares, the area houses a 1,200 m² building, recently renovated and expanded (with new enclosures and sand areas) to better meet the physiological and behavioral needs of these pachyderms. Outside, the plain has been completely redesigned: new vegetation, a flowing stream, and a second swimming pool, positioned at visitor level to allow them to observe the elephants in their natural behaviors, especially during their favorite bath!

An immersive and educational experience

Designed as a place for observation and learning, the Elephant Delta will offer several viewpoints, including landscaped terraces and close-up observation areas. Each day, an animal keeper will lead a one-hour discussion aimed at deciphering elephant behavior and raising public awareness of their way of life and the challenges of their conservation. This will also be an opportunity to present the work of the Le Pal Nature Foundation in support of the conservation of this species in its natural habitat. In particular, the Foundation supports the "STAND UP4 Elephants" Association, which works in Nepal for the well-being of elephants.

A Responsible Investment

After two years marked by major projects – €13.5 million for Fjord Explorer (2024) and €8 million for new attractions in 2025, including The Journey Above the World – Le PAL is continuing its development with a budget of over €9 million for 2026, €2 million of which is entirely dedicated to this new area. This strong commitment illustrates the park's desire to reconcile growth and responsibility, and to place animal welfare at the heart of its development strategy.

Water, the guiding thread of the Delta

True to its environmental approach, Le PAL has designed a landscape punctuated by water: two large pools, naturally filtered by plants and connected by a stream, recreate an ecosystem similar to an Asian delta. A sandy track crosses the entire area, allowing the elephants to roam freely, regardless of the weather, and better meeting their mobility needs.
