Worthy successor and

A great protector

At PAL, I live with my 2 sisters aged 3 and 6, Skadi and Taïga.

I eat beef, chicken, pigeon, fish (sardines and herring), fruits and vegetables. Like many carnivores, I don’t need to eat every day, which is why the keepers make us fast 3 times a week.

The keepers come to our enclosure regularly to check that we are okay and that the enclosure is secure. We don’t hesitate to approach them, but we don’t seek contact. No petting or kissing on the nose! We accept their presence on our territory and they respect our needs. We don’t speak the same language, but we try to understand each other.

The keepers vary our meal times, and in our enclosure, they disperse new smells: elephant, rhinoceros or giraffe poop, but also elephant sole, horse or pony hooves... I love these enrichments, especially the surprises hidden in straw: I have an unfortunate tendency to always keep them to myself.

A bird or a rabbit that wanders without paying attention to us and it's a good hunting party that begins; the wind that makes the leaves fall from the trees and there's a new playground!

We love to take a nap on the cabin installed next to the watering hole: it took us little time to figure out how to climb on the roof! When it's hot, we like to bathe in this little watering hole and are quickly sheltered thanks to the many trees in our territory.

I am a good brother, on the lookout for what could reach my siblings, I always keep one ear alert and one eye open.

A big thank you to Oeil de Soigneur who provided us with these magnificent photos of Loki! Find their photos of the PAL animals on Facebook and Instagram!
