A new case of monkey trafficking from the Democratic Republic of Congo was reported in December 2023: 40 primates left Kinshasa for Thailand and were confiscated in Lomé (Togo) during transit. Thanks to the intervention of Jeunes Animaux Confisqués au Katanga (J.A.C.K.), in collaboration with their colleagues from the EAGLE NETWORK and with the help of the Togolese government, they were repatriated to Kinshasa, where the DRC authorities temporarily placed them at the Zoo. J.A.C.K. is providing the necessary care to help them recover from the trauma endured during this horrific ordeal, offering them a safe place to heal before their eventual return to the forest.

The LE PAL NATURE Foundation supports the association by providing emergency aid for the development of a large wooded outdoor enclosure for black mangabeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. This enclosure includes several platforms equipped with feeders and waterers, trees and old logs filled with insects, as well as a water basin, thus offering a natural and enriching environment for these primates.

The Le PAL Nature Foundation actively supports the development of wooded outdoor enclosures for black mangabeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys, thereby providing an enriched natural habitat for these primates and contributing to their well-being and development.
The Foundation supports and supports financially, technically and humanly projects which, in France and abroad, offer lasting solutions to respond to the threats facing biodiversity, and in particular endangered wildlife species and their habitat.
